A pair of #TeamCanada members earned Top 20 finishes in the Main Event at the Aussie Millions, which concluded over the weekend.
2014 Aussie Millions Main Event Champion Ami Barer (GPI#9) enjoyed a deep run for a second consecutive year at the Crown Casino in Melbourne. Going back-to-back at the Aussie would have made for one hell of a story, but Barer’s reign would end just a few spots away from the final table, earning $95,000 AUD for his 11th place finish.
Barer’s countryman, Andrew Chen (GPI#22), was also trending late in the Melbourne Main Event. Chen, who managed to finish 16th in the event, collected his fifth Top 20 result in the past four months. That streak started in London last October where he won the EPT High Roller event for £394,200.
Another Team Canada member, Sorel Mizzi (GPI#11), who was second only to Barer at the 2014 Aussie Millions, was unable to make it out of Day 1 play in this year’s tournament.
