#TeamUK star Jack Salter wins side event at EPT Barcelona Festival

It wasn’t the best of times for #TeamUK at the inaugural GPI Poker World Cup last March in Malta, but that doesn’t mean that the team wasn’t loaded with some of the best players in the world. One of those players is reigning European Poker Award winner for Breakout Player Jack Salter (GPI#35).

The 28-year-old London pro has nine results on the live tournament circuit since competing for his Nation, including yesterday’s side event victory at the EPT Barcelona Festival, currently taking place in red-hot Spain. Salter survived a 209-player field to win the 1K NL Turbo event to defeat former EPT Grand Final preliminary event winner Kasra Pour Khoumamy (GPI#16186) heads-up for the title, the fifth of Salter’s career.

Salter has yet to win a Main Event on the European Poker Tour, although he did come oh so close at the 2014 EPT Grand Final, where a marathon heads-up match against Antonio Buonnano (GPI#304) would end, a day after it started, with the #TeamUK member having to settle for the Silver Medal.

The member of #TeamUK would only earn a single 3rd place finish in his five matches in last year’s competition. Currently ranked #2 on the UK charts, Salter would, at the moment, be in position to represent the United Kingdom once again at the GPI Poker World Cup.
