Fedor Holz dominating the poker world

GPI National Germany Player of the Year Fedor Holz (GPI#9) is on one heck of a heater!

After closing out the 2015 poker season with a career victory at the WPT Alpha8 Las Vegas event at Bellagio, Holz wasted no time getting back into the winner’s circle, closing out what now become his most lucrative victory to date, winning the largest buy-in event in World Poker Tour history, the Triton Super High Roller Series Cali Cup in Manila.

Holz’s rise to stardom in 2015 saw him battle fellow German star Dominik Nitsche for the Nation’s 2015 PoY title. Nitsche actually led Holz, by the slimmest of margins, in the National race heading into the final few events in Las Vegas, that is until Holz’ big win at Bellagio sealed the deal for the 2014 PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) Main Event winner.

The 2015 National PoY title sees Holz receive an automatic invitation to represent Germany at the 2016 GPI World Cup. The Germans are all but assured to make their second straight appearance in the competition. As for Nitsche? He will need to continue raking in the points in order to attempt to qualify as one of the top ranked players in the Nation come July 2016.
